The World Congress of Philosophy is one of the most relevant international events on philosophy. It is a moment of confrontation and sharing, held every five years, which focuses philosophical knowledge on global problems, promotes philosophical education and encourages the development of professional relationships between philosophers from all countries.
The 25th edition of the congress takes place in Rome from 1 to 8 August 2024. The Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa is taking part with a number of contributions involving scholars from the Dirpolis Institute. Let us see all the appointments in detail.

The research area Ethics and Global Challenges coordinated by Alberto Pirni, professor in Moral Philosophy, is involved in three initiatives that are part of the conference programme. On Wednesday, 7 August, Alberto Pirni organises and coordinates the round table 'Addressing Climate Injustice: The Role of Individuals and Collective Actors', a discussion on the effects of climate change and the social and political injustices that ensue. The panel focuses on the role of human beings, both individual and collective, and how it is possible that resistance (explicit and implicit) to ecological transition has become so pervasive, tenacious and structured today.
Prof. Pirni will also speak at the LXXIX Conference "Centro Studi Filosofici di Gallarate" on the theme 'Charity and fraternity for equality: beyond the border between abundance and indigence' (5-6 August). On 8 August, on the other hand, the meeting 'The paradox of care robots between companionship and loneliness' is scheduled, with the participation of Gaia Contu (Phd student Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna).

Anna Loretoni, full professor of Political Philosophy at the Dirpolis Institute, organises and coordinates the round table 'Philosophy of Globalization and Migrations', while Barbara Henry, full professor of Political Philosophy at, participates in two initiatives: the round table 'The Boundary Situation' and the round table 'Philosophies in Gender Studies.
